Job Description Title: Project Engineer, Mechanical Reports to: Lead Project Engineer, Mechanical Country: United States Location: New Berlin, WI, United States Employment type: Undefined term Benefits Medical Plan (participation in Wellness Program may reduce deductible in 2024; 2025 options). Holidays: 10 paid holidays per year. Principal Responsibilities Responsible for the Product Lines – Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes. Interpret order documentation including detailed customer specifications to determine scope of work and project plan. Search company archives to find records of legacy equipment; proficient in reading legacy equipment mechanical and structural drawings. Perform engineering tasks using established procedures. Create equipment layouts, undertake necessary mechanical and structural calculations to confirm designs, and generate final mechanical and structural designs. Create detail, sub-assembly, assembly, and installation drawings necessary to satisfy the order scope. Write detailed work instructions to support field installation. Responsible for project planning, scheduling, design execution, and performance to budget and schedule from inquiry through start-up. Education A Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Structural Engineering or related field. Experience Minimum 5 years with overhead electric cranes or similar industrial equipment. A PE license or ability to obtain licensure is a plus. Excellent understanding of machine design and structural engineering. Experience in overhead material handling industry preferred. Familiarity with CMAA and ASME B30 specs is a plus. Knowledge of welding and machining required. Other Requirements Excellent verbal and written communication. Proficient with SAP, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate between frontline sales, customers, application engineers and project management.
