Sr. PFAS Process Engineer Location: Arlington, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Richmond, VA; Greenville, SC Job Type: Staff, Full-Time, No relocation, No visa sponsorship The Opportunity Lead PFAS process projects, focusing on drinking water applications and potentially wastewater, landfill leachate, and government facilities. Team up with the PFAS Initiative Team, Client Directors, and Project Managers on new business pursuits related to PFAS treatment projects. Build and maintain client relationships, present at conferences, and identify new business prospects. Key Responsibilities Client Focus Identify client interests and drivers for ongoing and new projects. Develop creative solutions to accommodate client goals. Lead business development activities including pre‑positioning meetings, proposal development, and client interviews. Present on innovative PFAS treatment solutions at local, regional, and national conferences. Prepare scope of services and fee estimates for proposals and contracts. Project Execution Serve as a technical advisor on PFAS regulations, rapid small‑scale column testing, pilot testing, breakthrough curve models, and adsorption process design. Lead multiple projects and support multiple clients simultaneously as the central point of contact. Deliver projects within budget, schedule, and quality expectations. Apply advanced engineering techniques and problem solving independently. Coordinate with internal and external teams to ensure critical path activities are completed. Review and manage junior engineers and data scientists, mentoring and fostering their technical development. Management Responsibilities Acts in capacity of a lead person. Does not have management responsibility for staff to whom they provide work direction. Preferred Qualifications Advanced degree (Master’s or Doctoral) in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering. 11 years of experience in drinking water treatment, with at least 5 years in water quality and treatment or engineering management. Established leadership skills with deep understanding of consulting, project execution, client services, and business development. Strong communication skills and capacity for building and maintaining client relationships. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program. Minimum of 11 years of related work experience. Ability to complete standard pre‑employment onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search. Certifications Professional engineering license preferred in any U.S. state or ability to obtain one within two years of employment.
