The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Research Project Manager position. The Pathophysiology & Treatment Research (PTR) Division, Department of Psychiatry, New York State Psychiatric Institute is seeking a master's level applicant for a Research Project Manager III position. This is a full-time position. The candidate will fulfill the role of Research Project Manager III, functioning as a senior staff trainer and technical assistance specialist for the Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional (ROTA-R) Center (100% effort). The ROTA-R coordinates training and technical assistance in HHS Region 2 (New Jersey, New York, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) focusing on applying evidence-based practices in prevention, treatment, and recovery for substance use disorders, with a specific focus on opioid and stimulant use disorders, to meet locally identified needs in rural catchment areas across the region. Training and TA provided is exclusively rurally focused.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• This position will work within the Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional (ROTA-R) Center to assume primary responsibility for the development and delivery of training and technical assistance activities that support project deliverables in HHS Region 2.
• Serve as subject matter expert to the Rural Opioid Technical Assistance Regional (ROTA-R) Center contributing directly to the design and delivery of all training and technical assistance events provided in rural communities across HHS Region 2.
• Design and deliver curricula that is responsive to incoming training and technical assistance requests for ROTA-R.
• Identify and collaborate with consultants to facilitate successful and timely completion of training and TA activities, as necessary.
• Assist with marketing and outreach efforts designed to build awareness of ROTA-R events and resources.
• Conduct outreach in rural communities for the purpose of generating training and technical assistance requests.
• Engage rural stakeholders in HHS Region 2 to facilitate advisement and identify collaborative opportunities on rural initiatives.
• Collaborate and coordinate with Network Coordinating Office (NCO) to meet obligations regarding network wide activities.
• Coordinate with ROTA support staff to ensure timely and successful completion of deliverables, including evaluation aspects.
• Report to the PI providing regular updates on progress regarding incoming and ongoing requests.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Candidate must have a master's degree in a Social/Behavioral Science or health-related discipline;
• Minimum (3) years' experience providing training or technical assistance to the behavioral health workforce;
• Minimum (3) years' experience demonstrating In-depth knowledge of best practices for the treatment of substance use disorders including familiarity with best practices and systems-level implementation as it pertains to Opioid Use Disorders (OUD);
• Minimum (1) year of experience demonstrating knowledge pertaining to a rural behavioral health context.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Preferred candidates will possess a PhD in a behavioral health or health-related discipline;
• Preferred candidates will be a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and/or a certified addictions counselor;
• Preferred candidates would have a minimum of (5) years' experience working in a licensed substance use disorders clinic;
• Preferred candidates would have a minimum of (3) years working in a rural health context.
