Job Description

This role performs high-quality MIG and TIG welding on steel and aluminum components in a metal fabrication environment. You set up and operate welding equipment, interpret blueprints, and work with minimal supervision to complete jobs accurately and efficiently while maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate metal inert gas (MIG) and tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding machines to weld steel and aluminum components.

• Interpret and work from blueprints to produce accurate weldments and assemblies.

• Use standard hand tools such as files, squares, tape measures, and grinders to fit, finish, and verify parts.

• Operate overhead cranes and fork trucks to handle and manipulate materials and product components safely.

• Coordinate with administrative personnel to complete job orders efficiently and meet production requirements.

• Wear appropriate safety and protective equipment at all times and follow all safety procedures.

• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area throughout the shift.

• Report labor hours for each job accurately using an electronic scanner or similar system.

• Identify and remove materials and parts that do not meet company quality standards.

• Assist other team members and departments as needed to meet production goals.

• Participate in inventory cycle counting and support accurate inventory records.

• Adapt to changing priorities and job assignments in a dynamic production environment.

• Contribute to a team-focused environment aimed at achieving high levels of customer satisfaction.

Essential Skills

• 3–5 years of experience in MIG welding in a production or fabrication environment.

• Proficiency in MIG welding, with additional TIG welding experience on steel and aluminum preferred.

• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints and drawings.

• Experience working with steel; experience with other metals is a plus.

• Ability to work quickly and accurately under minimal supervision.

• Ability to work with tubing, beams, and structural components.

• Skill using hand tools such as tape measures, squares, files, grinders, and related equipment.

• Ability to use overhead cranes and fork trucks for material handling (training may be provided as needed).

• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify nonconforming materials.

• Ability to work and communicate effectively as part of a team to support customer satisfaction.

• Physical ability to stand for extended periods, with periodic kneeling and back bending.

• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds; use of overhead cranes and fork trucks for anything over 30 pounds.

• Ability to work safely in a metal fabrication shop with some temperature variation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Morgantown, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.50 - $23.50/hr.
