Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist)

This Clinical Laboratory Scientist (Medical Technologist) position in Cortez, CO supports a hospital laboratory performing diagnostic testing across chemistry, hematology/coagulation, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology. The clinician will run and maintain laboratory instrumentation, perform quality control, process and evaluate specimens, document and report results, and follow all safety and regulatory policies. The role requires professional interaction with clinical staff, participation in quality management, and timely notification of critical values.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related field as required by client.
• Valid ASCP or AMT certification required or eligible.
• State laboratory licensure if required by Colorado for the assigned role.
• Current BLS (CPR) certification.
• Experience in clinical laboratory testing across departments including chemistry, hematology/coagulation, blood bank, urinalysis, serology, and microbiology.
• 1-3 years laboratory experience preferred. This preference is noted by the client and should be considered preferred rather than mandatory.
• Ability to perform phlebotomy using age-specific techniques.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 10:00 to 20:30.
• Shift name: Mid Shift.
• Work days include Monday through Thursday based on client notes indicating those days associated with the referenced shift hours.
