POSITION SUMMARY

To support, implement, and monitor nursing care in a timely and accurate manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Formal Education / Training: Licensed by the State of Tennessee. Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BLS certification within 90 days of hire. Workplace Experience: Patient care delivery experience preferred. Equipment and Skills Training: Ability to work well under pressure, function independently and dependently, and adapt basic nursing knowledge to various settings. Equipment includes Order Entry Computer System, Telemetry, AT&T Language Line, Omnicell Medication System. Physical Environment: Postpartum unit with patients ranging from less than one year to ninety-nine years old. Physical Effort: Ability to communicate in English orally and in writing. Prolonged standing and working up to twelve hours a day. Push/pull objects up to 175 lbs. Lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs. Performance Standards Revise patient care plans based on individual needs and standards of care. Assist with patient teaching, discharge planning, and post-discharge needs. Perform treatments, procedures, and operate equipment independently and according to policies. Monitor and report patient conditions, evaluate responses, and modify care plans accordingly. Accurately document care and maintain a therapeutic environment. Maintain position-specific qualifications and facilitate staff development.
