Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer | Boston, MA | $350k cash comp | Python | Apache Iceberg | AI | ML Location : Boston, MA (4 days onsite) Package : $200,000 - $220,000 + 50% Bonus + RSU Our client is a global investment organization operating across alternative assets, capital markets, and insurance. You’ll join the AI, Data, and Platform Technologies Engineering team , the group responsible for building the firm’s core data and AI foundations. This team creates scalable, platform‑first solutions that power analytics, AI, and critical business systems firm‑wide. We’re looking for a Senior Data Infrastructure Engineer to play a hands‑on technical leadership role within the core platform team. You’ll help define how data is ingested, stored, governed, and used across large‑scale analytics and AI platforms—working with massive datasets and modern cloud technologies. This role is onsite in Boston (4 days/week) . What You’ll Do Lead the design and evolution of a unified enterprise data platform with strong standards for access, governance, and scalability Own Apache Iceberg–based lakehouse capabilities , including ingestion, streaming, replication, tuning, and lifecycle management Design distributed compute architectures across batch, streaming, stateful, and stateless workloads Drive event‑driven and real‑time data patterns with a focus on reliability, observability, and low latency Enable AI/ML use cases with curated datasets, feature‑ready pipelines, and training/inference data services Translate business needs into a clear technical roadmap and architecture decisions Act as a senior engineering leader, partnering closely with application, data, and ML teams Set and enforce standards for data quality, security, lineage, and operational excellence Mentor engineers and raise the bar on design, delivery, and ownership Evaluate new technologies and lead proofs of concept into production‑ready solutions What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field (advanced degree preferred) 6+ years in data, platform, or distributed systems engineering, operating at a senior level Proven experience building enterprise‑scale data or lakehouse platforms Deep hands‑on expertise with Apache Iceberg and open table formats Strong understanding of distributed compute, orchestration, and fault‑tolerant systems Experience with streaming and event‑driven architectures Background supporting AI/ML platforms , including data pipelines and feature workflows Strong Python and SQL skills; Java/Scala a plus Cloud‑native and containerized platform experience (automation, observability included) Confident technical decision‑maker with strong cross‑functional communication skills Experience with AI‑enabled data or model orchestration platforms is a strong plus There is an exceptional benefits package also on offer with the position, partnering the marketing leading cash comp on offer Candidate must be a US Citizen or have an active Green Card View email address on click.appcast.io | View phone number on click.appcast.io | LinkedIn DMs #J-18808-Ljbffr Huxley
