The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, scientifically minded, and passionate about product formulation and quality control.Job DescriptionAs a Cosmetic Chemist and Compounder, you'll be responsible for formulating, mixing, and testing cosmetic and personal-care products in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. You'll work closely with R&D, production, and quality teams to ensure consistency, safety, and innovation in every batch produced.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test, and refine cosmetic formulations for creams, lotions, gels, and other productsWeigh, measure, and compound ingredients according to precise formulas and production ordersConduct stability and compatibility testing on raw materials and finished productsMaintain accurate lab records and batch documentationEnsure compliance with GMP, FDA, and safety regulationsCollaborate with product development and quality assurance teams to improve formulationsRequirementsExperience – 2+ years of hands-on experience in cosmetic formulation or compounding Education – Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field (preferred) Technical Skills – Familiarity with lab equipment, weighing instruments, and mixing procedures Knowledge – Understanding of cosmetic ingredients, emulsions, surfactants, and preservatives Attention to Detail – Strong record-keeping and quality-control focus Commute – Must reside within a reasonable distance (60 minutes or less commute)About Express Employment ProfessionalsAt Express Employment Professionals – Brooklyn, we connect skilled professionals with top employers across New York City.
