Urgent Care Radiology Technologist

Radiologic Technologist / PTR Primary City/State: Tucson, Arizona Department Name: Prince & Campbell-Urg Care Work Shift: Varied Job Category: Clinical Care Location: Banner Health Urgent Care – Zone 7 Tucson Status: Full-Time (Three 12-hour shifts per week) Schedule: Variable; must be available to work any day of the week, including weekends Key Hours: 3 days per week, 8 a.m.–8:30 p.m. with two weekends per month Position Summary This role performs prescribed radiographic procedures according to department policies, ensuring optimal patient care and supporting clinicians and nursing staff. The technologist maintains comprehensive documentation, manages patient flow, and operates imaging equipment safely and efficiently. Core Functions Prepares patients for exams by recording vital signs, documenting chief complaints, and assessing any changes in condition. Performs setup, acquisition, and processing of prescribed radiographic procedures, and educates patients/families about the process. Assists providers with exams and minor in‑office procedures, including blood pressure, respiration, heart rate, temperature, phlebotomies, ear irrigation, and EKGs, acting as chaperone as needed and using universal precautions. Coordinates and manages patient care processes such as pre‑certifications, referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, and scheduling, and communicates test results to patients. Prepares and maintains accurate documentation for billing and medical records, ensuring completeness and timely submission. Maintains a clean environment, disinfects equipment, performs basic maintenance, and reports equipment issues to appropriate personnel. Orders supplies, manages inventory including medications and immunizations, and completes onboarding and orientation activities. Ensures efficient department workflow by coordinating patient flow, room setup, and transport among multidisciplinary team members. Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent with knowledge of radiology. Certificate or diploma from an approved accredited radiology program. National certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and state licensure if applicable. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and bi‑annual CPR competence for adults, children, and infants. Successful completion of Banner Health MA competency assessment. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and effective computer skills, including medical software. Preferred Qualifications Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program. Experience with office medical procedures, insurance and managed care operations, EMR, and scheduling software.
