About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: 2 years of ICU experience required, neuro surgery experience preferred License: RN license required Certifications: BLS + ACLS required - AHA only Must-Have: Epic experience required, must pass telemetry test prior to start Description: Evening/Night shifts available, requiring every other weekend and some holiday work. ICU experience is mandatory. Neurosurgery experience is a plus. Candidates must work with both ICU and Intermediate Care patient populations. The role necessitates passing a telemetry test before starting. Responsibilities include supporting adult patients with various neurology, neurosurgical, and stroke conditions. Conditions may include ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, traumatic brain injuries, hydrocephalus, and cerebral aneurysms. Strong critical thinking skills and comprehensive patient assessments are essential. Care interventions may involve vasoactive drips, hemodynamic monitoring, feeding tubes, and drains. The role requires teamwork within an interdisciplinary staff for optimal patient care. Patient age groups include adults and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 12 patients. The unit consists of 12 beds. Patient diagnoses encompass a wide range of neurological issues and post-operative neurosurgery care. Candidates must be willing to float as required within the unit or facility. Proper precautions and protocols will be followed to prevent infections and manage patient risks.
