Welding 1st ShiftWelding 1st Shift Monday - Thursday 4:30 am to 3:00 pm After the welder has worked with us for a while, they will be eligible to take the API 1104 test. If the test is passed, they could make up to 28/hour. API 1104 test, individuals may take the test once they have demonstrated the necessary competencies to pass. If those competencies are demonstrated at the 90-day mark, we can proceed with the testing at that time. Direct hire role.Job Summary: Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the welding machines to ensure quality parts are produced and provided to the customer in a timely manner. In addition to primary welding functions, assistance on steel assembly and CNC operations is a plus.Duties and Responsibilities:Set-up and operate all welding equipment and fixtures in a safe and efficient manner.Set-up and adjust welding machine to achieve a quality product.Perform first piece and continual inspections of parts using precision measuring instruments.Perform daily upkeep and routine maintenance, keeping equipment and production area in good working order.Follow instructions from lead person and supervisors.Perform minor maintenance on welding equipment and fixtures.Request needed supplies for welding department.Comply with and support all aspects of the company quality management program.Instruct lesser skilled employees in the welding area.Qualifications & Trainings:Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills normally acquired through a high school diploma or GED.Must have one (1) year experience in welding or minimum of six (6) months as a Welding C.General knowledge of precision measuring instruments.General understanding of basic welding operations.Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Ability to prioritize workload and complete tasks in a timely manner.Knowledge of proper use of safety equipment, i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, and work boots where necessary.Physical Demands & Work Environment:Standing at one station for up to two hours at a time.Work in welding hood, gloves, safety glasses, and other proper welding protective equipment.Work in temperatures of up to 100 degrees at times.Occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch.Use of hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects.Work usually takes place in a manufacturing environment where conditions can be reflective of the outside elements.Nesco Resource offers a comprehensive benefits package for our associates, which includes a MEC (Minimum Essential Coverage) plan that encompasses Medical, Vision, Dental, 401K, and EAP (Employee Assistance Program) services.
