Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Correctional Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 26 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours, evenings Employment Type: Travel Agency: Finger Lakes Residential Center Location: 250 Auburn Road, Lansing, NY 14882 Positions Available: 1 Estimated Start Date: ASAP Position Overview Finger Lakes Residential Center (FLRC) is seeking a qualified Registered Nurse to provide nursing interventions and medication administration consistent with an established systematic problem-solving approach for the delivery of comprehensive nursing care. The selected candidate will provide services in compliance with applicable regulatory standards within a juvenile correctional setting. Key Responsibilities The Registered Nurse will be responsible for duties including, but not limited to: Maintaining general medical inventory, including controlled substances. Conducting medication administration in accordance with established policies and procedures. Reviewing the overall health conditions of youth. Preparing, reviewing, and evaluating nursing intervention plans. Ensuring nursing interventions are consistent with comprehensive treatment plans. Participating in staff training activities. Preparing required clinical and administrative reports. Maintaining appropriate infection control standards. Serving as a member of the facility's medical treatment team. Performing additional duties as discussed in detail during the interview. Work Schedule & Conditions Schedule: Sunday through Wednesday Shift Hours: 11:30 AM – 10:00 PM Meal Break: Includes a 30-minute unpaid meal break Pass Days: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday Overtime Required: No Travel Required: No Work on NYS Holidays: Yes Facility Information Finger Lakes Residential Center is located approximately seven miles north of the City of Ithaca. The facility serves male juvenile offenders who may remain in the custody of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) until the age of 21, depending on their sentence. FLRC is accredited by the American Correctional Association and has a current population of approximately 60 youth. Additional facility information includes: Free parking is available on-site. The dress code is business casual or scrubs. There are currently no vaccine requirements. Supervision staff will be present when the Registered Nurse is providing nursing care to youth. Qualifications & Requirements Must be licensed and currently registered to practice nursing in New York State.
