Acute Care RN - Critical Night Shift

This role involves providing expert nursing care in a critical care setting during night shifts. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical skills, leadership, and a commitment to quality patient outcomes.

• Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently utilizes resources and supplies to promote cost savings and effective budget use. Manages time productively, delegates assignments, and schedules proactively based on patient acuity and census. Engages in ongoing education to support cost-effective practices.
• Quality: Participates in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including regulatory compliance and nurse-sensitive indicators. Demonstrates critical thinking, multitasking, and thorough documentation in line with unit standards. Practices accountable nursing processes to optimize care, collaborate with the team, and enhance patient experience. Applies evidence-based practices and assigns patient care based on nurse expertise and patient needs.
• Community Service and Patient Satisfaction: Positively represents the healthcare facility in community and hospital events. Actively contributes to patient satisfaction through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and professionalism. Maintains a therapeutic environment by reducing noise, managing electronic device use, and supporting healthcare students.
• Patient Safety: Integrates safe patient care practices daily, including fall prevention, safe mobilization, medication administration, and patient identification. Reports near misses and participates in error reduction processes. Adheres to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, national safety standards, and social media policies.
• Professional Growth: Demonstrates proficiency in charge nurse responsibilities, mentoring, and leadership. Maintains licensure and pursues growth opportunities such as certifications, clinical advancement programs, advanced degrees, and shared leadership roles. Engages in educational offerings and tracks professional development.
• Customer Service: Provides holistic care based on relationship-centered and unit-based nursing models, fostering interdepartmental collaboration. Meets established customer service standards, addresses ethical issues, and supports coworkers. Exhibits courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, visitors, physicians, and colleagues.

• Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• Proficiency with computer skills is necessary.
• Minimum of three years recent experience in critical care nursing is required.

• Current active Registered Nurse licensure by the appropriate state board.
• Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications must be obtained upon hire and maintained.

Night shift, 7:00pm 7:00am. This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
