Summary

Reporting to the Gardena Plant Manager with dotted line reporting responsibility to the Director, Environmental, Health and Safety (SMC) and the Director of Quality (SMC), The QHSE Director (Gardena) will create the Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality strategies and lead the deployment of all associated programs. The post holder will, in working with the Plant Manager be responsible for the development and implementation of QHSE policies, procedures and best practice to drive continuous improvement via the company 6S project.

Essential Functions

• Implements and reviews the Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental management systems to the relevant ISO standards.
• Ensure full QHSE compliance across the site and set up any additional supporting processes and procedures for implementation.
• Represent the company in communications and liaison with regulators and ensure effective completion of all regulatory submissions.
• Will review new and revised customer requirements in conjunction with the sales, technical and operations teams to assure that the internal procedures meet these requirements as well as manage the approval and release of customer specifications.
• Corrective/Preventive Actions and Customer Complaints- raise and/or oversee any necessary CA/Client, distribute, review responses, and verify effective implementation, interface with customers and respond to customer complaints and corrective actions.
• Ensure that all PCC Policies are adhered to, and any current exemptions are eliminated within agreed timescales.
• Provide advice and guidance to the leadership team on relevant requirements and legal obligations.
• Manage QHSE auditing across the site including external auditing to relevant ISO standard and report to senior management on the performance of the QHSE management system.
• Provide leadership and support to the business unit managers in developing and implementing actions plans and goals for QHSE improvement and compliance.
• Develop, implement and report on performance against key performance indicators for assessment of QHSE performance.
• Manage a culture of employee engagement in safety processes and continuous improvement through regular contact with shop floor staff.
• Manage effective accident and near miss investigation and proactive accident reduction techniques.
• Conduct effective training for all employees in regulatory and company mandated QHSE requirements.
• Work closely with operations and engineering to identify and control quality, environmental and health and safety risk associated with process change.
• Perform all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.
• Act as 6S coordinator for Gardena Revert.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Qualified Storm Water Practitioner (QISP) Certification (Preferred).
• Hold ISO Internal Auditor and Lead Auditor certification.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in QHSE management.
• Previous experiences of development, implementation, and auditing of QHSE management systems (ISO 9001/14001/ 18001) preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
