About the Role The Janitor plays a key role inmaintaininga clean, safe, and organized environment for our customers and team members. This roleis responsible forcleaning store facilities, restrooms, and parking areas, as well asassistingat the check stand with bagging, carry-out service, and cart collection. Janitors ensure the store environment reflects Vallarta’shigh standardsfor safety, sanitation, and customer service. WhatYou’llDo Smile and greet customers and team members; provide extraordinary service. Model Vallarta’s Core Values: customer service, commitment, integrity, respect, humility, and teamwork. Sweep, mop, and dry sales floors; perform “Gleason Sweep” inspections as needed. Respond promptly to spills and clean-ups; secure areas to ensure safety. Clean restrooms, fixtures, windows, walls,and replenishsupplies. Empty and clean trash receptacles throughout the store and outside areas. Conduct pressure washing inside and outside the store following safety standards. Clean vents, drains, and replace store lights asrequired. Identifyandreportbuilding maintenance needs and safety hazards. Maintain janitorial storage rooms clean, organized, and stocked. Assistcustomers at the check stand by bagging groceries and performing go-backs. Performaccurateprice checks asrequested. Provide carry-out service and help customers with carts and purchases. Gather shopping carts safely using reflective vest and rope. Work as part of a team;assistcoworkers as needed. Follow all company policies, safety rules, and Employee Handbook. Treat customers and coworkers respectfullyat alltimes. Performadditionaljanitorial or customer service duties as assigned. Physical Requirements Stand and walk constantly (6–8+ hours/day). Frequently bend neck/waist, squat, twist, and reach above/below shoulders. Frequent hand use for grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation. Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.frequentlyand up to 40 lbs. occasionally. Heaviest itemrequiredto carry: 40 lbs., up to 40 feet. Operate manual pallet jacks safely (buddy systemrequired). Exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, gas, fumes, temperature, and humidity changes. Work near equipment/machinery and on uneven ground. WhatWe’reLooking For Friendly, courteous personality with strong customer service skills. Basic understanding of Englishlanguage. Mustbe at least 18 years old. Ability to learn andcomply withHAZMATprogramand safety procedures. Professional, responsible, and positive attitude. Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. Fast-paced grocery store setting with direct customer interaction. Exposure tocleaning supplies, perishable products, and changing conditions. Collaborative, team-focused workplace. Must work flexible schedule: afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
