About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director for Research in Integrative Sciences with a focus on immunology. This senior leadership role is pivotal in driving external innovation in the field of immune-mediated diseases, including rheumatology, dermatology, and gastroenterology. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and advancing high-value external scientific opportunities and collaborations that align with the company's research priorities. Key responsibilities include leading the triage process for immunology opportunities, shaping collaboration plans, and ensuring that external innovation strengthens the company's research pipeline. The role also involves serving as a key interface across various internal and external stakeholders and may include governance roles for external immunology companies. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent in immunology, inflammation biology, or a related discipline, with at least 10 years' experience in drug discovery or early development within the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. A strong understanding of immune-mediated disease biology and a proven track record in evaluating and advancing external scientific opportunities are essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in shaping collaboration plans, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the ability to represent the company's external innovation mission to a wide range of stakeholders. While not mandatory, a preferred qualification is a track record of advancing therapeutic programs toward the IND stage or beyond, and experience working across various functions to support opportunity triage and execution.
