Event Sales Manager

Job Summary The Event Sales Manager for the DCU Center in Worcester, MA is responsible for booking high‑revenue events across all event spaces of the Convention Center, including association business, conventions, conferences, trade shows, public, private, social, and corporate events. Key Responsibilities Use sales and marketing principles to promote the facility, attract new business, and maximize revenue potential. Sends client pre‑event information and follow‑up information related to booking. Manage contracts and budgets, draft license agreements, negotiate rates, prepare payment schedules, and collections. Develop long‑term sales strategies to increase convention services and optimize profits. Collaborate with Destination Marketing Organizations and other hospitality and tourism partners, such as hotels, to analyze the economic impact of Convention Center events and overall facility performance. Conduct familiarity tours, site visits, and present to clients and trade industry professionals. Maintain relationships with Convention Center service providers, decorators, and vendors. Collaborate with internal colleagues across all departments to ensure seamless event execution. Develop and deliver on sales goals and metrics. Work closely with the Food & Beverage hospitality team to boost banquet and catering business, and with the Event Management team on accurate staffing estimates and labor calls. Act as Manager on Duty on a rotating monthly schedule. Work hours may vary and include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises the Event Services staff during Manager on Duty duties in accordance with ASM Global policies and applicable laws. Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree from a four‑year college or university. Minimum 3 years of sales‑related experience. Facility/industry experience preferred. Skills and Abilities Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects. Strong numerical aptitude and advanced writing skills. Professional presentation, appearance, and work ethic. Working knowledge of spreadsheet and word‑processing software; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Ability to work under limited supervision and interact with all levels of staff, including management. Capacity to work long and irregular hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays; occasional travel as needed. Compensation and Benefits Yearly salary range: $70,000 – $85,000. Competitive salary, commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401(k) plan.
