Registered Nurse Med Surg Ortho Trauma

Mission Health, based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse for our Med Surg Ortho Trauma unit within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with a variety of medical, orthopedic, and trauma-related conditions in a fast-paced acute care environment. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, you will perform comprehensive patient assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments safely, monitor and interpret patient responses, and collaborate closely with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

The Registered Nurse Med Surg Ortho Trauma is responsible for managing a diverse patient caseload that may include post-surgical orthopedic patients, trauma patients requiring complex monitoring, and medical patients with multiple comorbidities. You will utilize strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and time-management skills to prioritize care, respond to changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately. Duties include pain management, wound and incision care, mobility and rehabilitation support, patient and family education, discharge planning, and accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record.
