Job Description As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) you will support plasma center operations by determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable results. You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and work under the guidance of the Center Physician for medical issues. About the role The Medical Support Specialist follows BioLife Medical Affairs guidance and provides center‑level support for environmental, health, and safety (EHS) matters while familiarising with plasma collection industry regulations. How you will contribute Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs, handle medical emergencies, assist with Center Physician standing orders, and coordinate donor transport to emergency care. Consult the Center Physician or Medical Affairs on unacceptable findings or technical issues related to donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine if occupational health evaluation is needed, following EHS guidance. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, investigating pandemic threats in the local community. What you bring to Takeda High‑school diploma or equivalent, or a recognised nursing degree meeting state requirements. Current state licence or certification (e.g., EMT‑Paramedic). Current CPR and AED certification. Basic IV therapy licence per state requirements. Completion of FDA‑approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Compensation and Benefits Summary Location: USA – IA – Davenport Hourly Wage Range: $24.32 – $33.44 The hourly wage range reflects an anticipated range for this position and may vary based on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location. The actual wage will comply with state and local minimum wage requirements.
