Job Title: Sterile Processing Tech Profession: Surgical Services Specialty: Sterile Processing Tech Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (23:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum of 3 years required License: Certification required Certifications: CBSPD or IAHCSMM/HSPA Must-Have: - Must be a certified Sterile Processing Tech - Must have completed at least 1 travel assignment Description: The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for decontamination and disinfection of medical instruments. Aseptic technique must be adhered to at all times. The role includes organizing trays and placing instruments on trays. Preference cards will be utilized for proper selection of wrapping materials. Sterilization wrapping procedures must be followed accurately. Equipment documentation is a necessary part of the job. Knowledge of the Sterile Processing Microsystem is required. On-call duties include being available 24 hours on weekends and holidays as needed. Travel experience in similar roles is required. The successful candidate will demonstrate proper cleaning techniques and knowledge of biological indicators. Additionally, the tech will be proficient in using various cleaning agents and disinfectants. Hands-on experience with steam sterilization and proper labeling is essential. Candidates must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
