Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse specializing in Progressive Care Unit (PCU) to join our team for night shifts. This position involves providing exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Job Details

• Shift: Night Shift, 4x12 Hours (19:00 - 07:00)
• Weekend Coverage: Every Other Weekend
• Patient Ratio: Days - 1:3, Nights - 1:4, Weekends - 1:3
• Floating: Required
• Orientation Hours: 24

Qualifications

• Licensure: Must have an active New York nursing license
• Years of Experience: Minimum of 1 year in PCU or related specialty
• Certifications: BLS and NIHSS required
• Charting System: Experience with Epic is required

Required Skills

• Cardiac Monitoring and Emergency Response:
• Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Utilization of Rapid Response and Code teams
• IV Therapy and Phlebotomy:
• Management of peripheral lines
• Respiratory Care:
• Nasal Cannula and oxygen administration
• Non-invasive airway management
• Knowledge in isolation precautions and PPE

Unit Information

The Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) is a critical care step-down facility that provides specialized medical attention to patients requiring more comprehensive care than standard medical-surgical units. The unit accommodates a maximum of 26 patients, with continuous pulse oximetry and telemetry monitoring. Staff work collaboratively with various interdisciplinary teams, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and more.

Patient Population

Caring for adult and geriatric patients, the unit handles a wide range of medical diagnoses, particularly focusing on pulmonary cases. Our patients may require airway management, acute BIPAP support, arterial line care, central line management, and titrated medication infusions.
