About the Role

As a Staff Hardware Product Manager, you will lead the development of our hardware product portfolio. This is a critical, foundational role - with broad responsibility for defining, building, and launching innovative hardware solutions that enable our mission.

You will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, manufacturing partners, and marketing teams to translate customer needs into robust hardware products, drive product strategy and roadmaps, and ensure successful delivery from concept through production.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for Gridware’s hardware products, from identifying customer and business problems through product definition, development, launch, and ongoing iteration.
• Develop and drive hardware product strategy and roadmaps aligned with company priorities, customer needs, and long-term product vision.
• Gather and synthesize customer, market, and field insights to identify the highest-impact problems to solve and inform product priorities.
• Translate customer and business needs into clear product requirements, balancing customer value, technical feasibility, cost, reliability, and time to market.
• Partner closely with hardware, firmware, and software engineering to evaluate solutions and make informed product tradeoffs.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, reliability, and quality teams to successfully launch, scale, and improve products in the field.
• Drive complex cross-functional initiatives, bringing clarity to priorities, decisions, dependencies, risks, and timelines.
• Define product success metrics and use customer and field feedback to inform future product decisions and revisions.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of Product experience, or 4+ years of Product experience combined with significant prior hardware engineering experience.
• Experience owning hardware products across the full lifecycle, from customer discovery and product definition through development, validation, launch, and post-launch iteration.
• Strong product judgment, with a track record of identifying customer and business problems, defining requirements, prioritizing tradeoffs, and translating strategy into an actionable roadmap.
• Strong understanding of hardware product development and the ability to partner effectively with electrical, mechanical, firmware, software, manufacturing, and reliability teams.
• Strong project management skills, with experience driving complex, cross-functional initiatives from definition through execution.
• Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and bringing structure to problems that may not have a clear path forward.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across technical and non-technical teams without direct authority.
• Strong problem-solving skills, curiosity, and a bias toward action.

Bonus Skills

• Experience working with contract manufacturers and hardware supply chains is a plus.
• Experience with cloud-connected hardware and modern software systems
