If you are a current employee, talk to us about applying internally. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Participates in establishing goals and standards of performance for the department. Plans, schedules and assigns the work of the department, and maintains work efficiency at the highest possible level at the lowest possible cost. Continuously monitors quality of work and efficiency in the department and takes necessary corrective action to remedy deficiencies. Motivates department leaders and teammates to achieve continuously increasing productivity. Evaluates performance of all department personnel on the prescribed time schedule and recommends, initiates, and delivers appropriate personnel action after consultation with the Maintenance and Human Resources Managers. Works closely with the Maintenance Manager in developing teammates. Investigates and identifies root causes and leading indicators of production downtime, determines and remedies causes of failure to meet quality standards, advises and assists the appropriate manufacturing and support departments with the implementation of corrective action. Enters equipment and PMs for all new equipment. Generates charts, graphs, and reports to determine maintenance reliability. Meets with vendors and suppliers as needed. Assists and tracks projects determined by the Maintenance Manager and Plant Staff and records and analyzes data. Updates department metrics and generates reports. Ensures department leadership maintains 5S standards. Works with maintenance stockroom personnel to ensure all required parts are maintained per manufacturer’s recommendations. Schedules, prints, and distributes all PMs and work orders and follows up on the work order backlog using Megamation. Runs selected reports in CMMS to ensure work orders and PMs contain all relevant information for the completed job (hours, description of work performed, parts used, etc). Conducts PM audits monthly to ensure integrity of completed PMs. Manages projects as assigned by the Maintenance Manager. Is responsible for all departmental training as needed. Maintains and updates all PMs regularly and as needed. Serves as a standing member of the Plant Safety Team. Meets weekly with department leaders to ensure compliance with assignments, goals, policies, procedures and quality standards. Maintains timekeeping records for department. Explains and enforces Company policies and rules; maintains discipline, morale and harmonious employee relations. Continually improves areas of responsibility through planned maintenance and equipment improvements. Reviews daily work order backlog; prioritizes work based on equipment availability and criticality of work. Attends daily production meetings and other meetings as assigned in the maintenance manager’s absence or as needed and updates plant management on maintenance activities and upcoming work. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS, AND REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferred with 5 years maintenance supervisory experience in preventive and predictive maintenance systems or Associate’s degree in any technical discipline preferably maintenance or engineering technology and a minimum of 7 years’ experience in a maintenance / planning role. This position requires strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and good written and verbal communication skills. Experience with computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) General understanding of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA 70E, and NEC regulations Experience managing multiple projects Job requires daily physical activity including climbing stairs and ladders, bending at the knees and back, lifting 50 lbs, walking, periodic exposure to temperature extremes and working in elevated locations. Understanding of key performance indicators (KPIs) such as MTBF, MTTR, inventory turns, performance to budget.
