Our Solutions Architects play a critical role in helping clients solve complex business challenges by designing practical, scalable technology solutions that align with their operational and financial goals.Position SummaryPomeroy is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to lead the technical strategy and solution development for complex managed services opportunities across enterprise clients.This role partners closely with Sales, Service Delivery, Operations, Finance, Portfolio Management, and strategic partners to design innovative solutions that are technically sound, financially viable, and aligned with each client's business objectives.The ideal candidate is a broad IT services generalist with deep experience across managed services environments. While expertise in every technology domain is not expected, candidates should possess a strong understanding of enterprise IT operations and the ability to bring together multiple service towers into cohesive client solutions.Experience with enterprise data center operations, infrastructure transformation, or hybrid infrastructure environments is highly desirable.This position reports to the Vice President of Solutions.What You'll DoSolution Strategy & ArchitectureLead solution development for enterprise managed services opportunities.Translate client business objectives into scalable, cost-effective technology solutions.Assess customer environments and identify opportunities to improve operations, service quality, and business outcomes.Develop solution architectures that balance technical excellence, operational delivery, and commercial competitiveness.Sales PartnershipPartner with Account Executives throughout the sales lifecycle.Participate in discovery sessions with executive and technical stakeholders.Develop solution strategies that support opportunity win themes.Present solution recommendations to both technical teams and executive leadership.Support contract negotiations by developing Statements of Work (SOWs), assumptions, and service descriptions.Solution DevelopmentCollaborate with Service Delivery, Operations, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Portfolio teams.Coordinate with strategic subcontractors and technology partners to obtain pricing and delivery models.Lead solution costing, pricing, and financial modeling.Ensure proposed solutions can be successfully transitioned into operational delivery.Proposal & Client EngagementDevelop technical proposal content for complex pursuits.Create compelling presentation materials for executive and technical audiences.Lead client workshops, architecture reviews, and solution presentations.Support RFP and RFQ responses for strategic opportunities.Areas of ExpertiseSuccessful candidates will have experience across many of the following managed services disciplines:Managed Service DeskEnd User ComputingField ServicesOnsite IT SupportDepot ServicesNetwork Operations Center (NOC)Security Operations Center (SOC)Cloud Operations and Cloud ManagementAsset Lifecycle ManagementDevice Deployment and Refresh ProgramsEndpoint EngineeringVulnerability ManagementIT Service Management (ITSM)ITIL Best PracticesAI Operations (AIOps)Digital Employee Experience (DEX)Governance and Service ReportingContinual Service ImprovementExperience designing services that span multiple towers is strongly preferred.Preferred ExperienceWe're looking for a well-rounded managed services professional who understands how enterprise IT organizations operate.Ideal backgrounds include experience with organizations such as:National or regional managed service providers (MSPs)Systems integratorsInfrastructure outsourcing organizationsEnterprise IT consulting firmsLarge internal IT organizations supporting multi-site enterprisesCandidates with enterprise data center operations, infrastructure modernization, hybrid cloud, or colocation experience are especially encouraged to apply.QualificationsRequiredBachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.10+ years of experience in enterprise IT services, managed services, solution architecture, consulting, or technical pre-sales.Experience designing complex managed service solutions.Strong understanding of IT operational models and service delivery.Experience supporting large enterprise sales pursuits.Proven ability to communicate effectively with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.Experience developing Statements of Work (SOWs), solution documentation, and technical proposals.Strong financial acumen, including solution costing and pricing.PreferredExperience with enterprise data center operations or infrastructure transformation.Experience working within a national managed services provider.ITIL Foundation or higher certification.Cloud platform knowledge (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).Familiarity with automation, observability, AI-driven operations, and modern IT operations platforms.Success in This RoleSuccessful Solutions Architects at Pomeroy:Design winning managed services solutions.Build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.Balance technical innovation with operational practicality.Deliver financially sound solutions that support profitable growth.Collaborate effectively across sales, delivery, finance, and operations.Help clients modernize and optimize their IT environments.Physical RequirementsPrimarily sedentary work performed in a home office environment.Frequent use of computers, video conferencing, and standard office equipment.Ability to travel up to 25% throughout the continental United States for customer meetings, workshops, and internal business activities.Work EnvironmentThis is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere within the continental United States. While the role is home-office based, occasional travel is expected to support customer engagements, strategic planning sessions, and internal collaboration.
