Barnes Jewish West County has an opening for a Patient Meal Services Lead! 40 hours a week 11:30AM ott 8:00PM Rotating weekends and holidays Overview Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers highly specialized surgical and medical services in an intimate environment and is known for outstanding patient care. With 64 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative, efficient and centered on the patient experience. The campus features a park-like setting with landscaping and a walking path that winds through the grounds and connects to Millennium Park. The Dietary department committed to promoting healthy food options for patients, visitors and the community by providing a variety of meal plans to meet the needs of our patients. We offer ''Catering to You'' a program that brings hospitality hosts and hostesses to each patient¿s room to discuss the menu offerings, take their order and assemble, deliver and retrieve their tray. Our cafeteria is open daily, serving patients, visitors and staff. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose The Patient Services Lead will be responsible for all activities within the assigned area including assisting the supervisor/manager with daily operational functions of the patient services area, training and direction of staff, conducting inspections to evaluate adherence to quality control standards, monitoring diet compliance, monitoring patient and nursing satisfaction, and food quality. Responsibilities Assists department management in coordinating and achieving department goals. Works various positions where needed to ensure quality and timely delivery of service. Assists with assigning work tasks, monitoring employee performance and schedules, completing and monitoring quality control logs, training employees and building an effective work unit. Evaluates patient meal selection, dietary restrictions/allergies, tray completion, tray delivery, and tray retrieval process on a daily basis ensuring that work unit follows proper diet protocols, safety guidelines and sanitation guidelines. Responsive to patient’s needs at all times. Resolves patient concerns or complaints immediately and/or reports needed assistance to supervisor as appropriate.
