Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse

Experience: Minimum 2 years of electrophysiology experience required.
License: Active nursing license
Certifications: BLS, ACLS, RCES preferred


Must-Have:
- 2 years of electrophysiology experience required
- Academic electrophysiology experience preferred
- First-time travelers accepted with more than 2 years of experience in a busy electrophysiology lab
- Availability for on-call duties (2 call days per week and holiday shift call)


Description:
The registered nurse will work in the electrophysiology lab.
Responsibilities include preparing the environment and assessing patients.
The nurse will review safety checklists and monitor patients during cardiac electrical impulse procedures.
Charting will be done using the EPIC system.
Patient ratios will be 1:1.
Nursing duties require strong skills in end-tidal CO2 monitoring, cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and cardioversion.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with central line insertion, administering emergency medications, and managing procedural sedation.
The nurse will be expected to perform 12 lead ECGs and insertion/programming of AICDs.
Caring for patients will include blood product administration and ensuring infection prevention protocols are followed.
Compliance with safety regulations, including radiation and laser safety, is required.
The nurse should be familiar with various monitoring techniques and medication administration protocols.
Support of interdisciplinary collaboration is essential in this role.
No floating between different units will be required.
