Job Description
This Laborer role supports a utility construction crew by assisting with the layout, assembly, and installation of piping for underground and above-ground electric, telecommunications, water, and natural gas systems. The position involves a variety of hands-on construction tasks, helping to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. We are seeking someone with at least landscaping experience for this role. We are offering $24.50 - $28 an hour depending on your experience and how it relates to our work. First day orientation will be held in Auburn, MA.
Responsibilities

• Assist with layouts, assembly, and installation of piping for underground and above-ground electric, telecommunications, water, and natural gas utilities.
• Adhere to and actively promote all company safety policies and the company code of conduct at all times.
• Clean tools, equipment, materials, and the work area to maintain a safe and organized job site.
• Lift, carry, and hold construction materials, tools, and supplies as needed to support the crew.
• Assist with joining, wrapping, and sealing pipe to ensure proper installation and system integrity.
• Dig, spread, and level dirt, gravel, sand, or other materials using hand tools.
• Mix, pour, and spread concrete and asphalt using hand tools to support various construction activities.
• Perform a variety of machine and non-machine tasks such as removing forms, placing pipe in trenches, jackhammering, and tapping.
• Work harmoniously, cooperatively, and courteously with crew members and other personnel at all times.
• Perform other miscellaneous duties and responsibilities as required to support utility construction operations.

Essential Skills

• Previous construction experience in a field or site-based environment.
• Prior laboring experience performing physically demanding tasks in construction or similar settings.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle construction materials, tools, and supplies.
• Ability to use hand tools for digging, spreading, leveling, mixing, and finishing materials.
• Commitment to following safety policies, procedures, and the company code of conduct.
• Ability to work cooperatively as part of a construction crew on active job sites.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid, unrestricted drivers license.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• OSHA 10 certification.
• Experience working on utility construction projects involving electric, telecommunications, water, or natural gas infrastructure.
• Comfort working with concrete, asphalt, and trenching operations.
• Willingness to travel to different job locations as required by project needs, including orientation and training sites.

Work Environment
The home base for this role is in Bow, New Hampshire, with day-to-day work taking place at a large institutional campus in Hanover, New Hampshire. Initial orientation for the first few days will be held in Auburn, Massachusetts. The position is field-based and involves outdoor work on active utility construction sites in varying weather conditions. The role is physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting, carrying, digging, and working with hand tools, concrete, asphalt, and piping materials. Work is performed as part of a crew, with a strong emphasis on safety practices and adherence to established procedures. Appropriate workwear suitable for a construction environment, including safety gear and protective equipment, is required in accordance with company and site safety standards.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hanover, NH.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.51 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
