Human Resources Internship

Human Resources Intern The Human Resources Intern will work primarily with YAI's Volunteer & Internship program serving as a representative of YAI within the community, leading the charge in recruiting and onboarding. The Human Resources Intern will also support the HR department on various projects, including university engagement and employee recruitment efforts. Responsibilities Act as the face of YAI in the community, communicating the mission, vision, and opportunities across regions served by YAI. Recruit, screen, and onboard prospective volunteers and interns, and provide ongoing support after onboarding. Maintain accurate volunteer and intern records and manage data through Salesforce and Workday. Create monthly Volunteer Newsletters, social media posts, letters of appreciation, and assist in planning and executing volunteer recognition events. Ensure all required clearances for incoming volunteers and interns are completed in accordance with state regulations. Support other teams within YAI's HR Department by taking on additional meaningful day‑to‑day tasks and special projects. Desired Qualifications Currently enrolled in a college, university, or certificate program (undergraduate or graduate level preferred). Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Professional phone and email communication skills. Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take initiative. Ability to multitask and prioritize project deadlines. High level of comfort with Microsoft Office 365. Quick to learn technology and CRM systems such as Salesforce and Workday. Interest in exploring the non‑profit sector. Passion for helping others and interest in intellectual and developmental disabilities.
