Civil Engineer

Job Roles and Responsibilities

Manage workload and schedules for the design team

Delegate project design responsibilities to team members

Mentor, train, and support technical and design employees

Ensure team members have the necessary resources to complete projects efficiently

Develop working knowledge of project management tools and resources in Ajera

Review project budgets and provide input as needed

Maintain communication with clients regarding project progress, changes, and challenges

Create project timelines and milestones while ensuring schedule adherence

Identify and mitigate project risks impacting timelines or quality

Assist with preparing monthly invoices for managed projects

Lead and coordinate project meetings with clients and regulatory agencies

Serve as the primary point of contact between clients, stakeholders, and project teams

Attend and participate in public meetings representing the company and clients

Develop relationships with client staff and decision-makers

Seek new projects and business opportunities

Participate in networking events and professional organizations

Assist in proposal development and firm-wide training initiatives

Qualifications and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program

Active Professional Engineer PE license in Tennessee or ability to obtain

Strong leadership, organizational, and delegation skills

Ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, deadlines, and deliverables

Self-starter with strong collaboration and teamwork abilities

Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D

Working knowledge of Ajera project management software is a plus
