Full time - Registered Respiratory Therapist

Hours of Work: 7pm to 7am Days of Week: Sunday through Saturday with rotating weekends Work Shift: 12X3 Night (United States of America) Position Overview Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) is responsible for a variety of therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, including ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, bronchial hygiene therapy, and airway maintenance. The RRT must be proficient in respiratory assessment and treatment of adults and neonates, performing procedures under the indirect supervision of the department’s medical director according to departmental policies and procedures. The RRT must demonstrate knowledge, skills, and ability to care for patients of all ages while being sensitive to diverse and unique patient needs. Key Responsibilities Perform respiratory therapeutics: oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, incentive spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR, and mechanical ventilation. Carry out and report cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, and electrocardiograms. Prepare bedside respiratory physical assessments, patient interviews, and review medical records to produce treatment evaluations. Apply critical thinking to interpret CXR, ABG, and PFT results. Assemble, check, operate, and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment: artificial airways, ventilators, oxygen analyzers, delivery devices, and blood gas analyzers. Participate in infection control, safety, and quality assurance tasks. Maintain cleanliness and equipment, and perform required cleaning and maintenance of cardiopulmonary equipment and work areas. Use appropriate customer scripting to enhance patient satisfaction. Perform other job duties as required. Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program. Current Basic Life Support certification. Current Advanced Cardio Life Support certification. NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification – must be obtained within one year of hire. Licensed in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Texas Medical Board. Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
