Established in 2023, The Gate Golf Club is a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding access to golf and creating a lasting impact on the Southwest Florida community. Scheduled to open in late 2026, The Gate will feature:

• Oakwood Grill - 175-seat freestanding full-service restaurant
• The Pavilion Bar
• The Gimme - quick service restaurant
• The Bays - 30-bay state-of-the-art practice range with Trackman technology
• The Gater 18-hole putting course
• Jacobsen-Hardy designed 9-hole regulation-length golf course

The Gate is designed to make golf more accessible to families and players of all skill levels, while providing high-quality golf and hospitality experiences at affordable rates.

Position Overview


The Gate Golf Club is looking for dependable and dedicated Stewards to join our kitchen team and play an essential role in delivering exceptional dining experiences.


As a Steward, you'll help keep our kitchen running smoothly by ensuring that dishes, cookware, equipment, and work areas are clean and properly sanitized. Your attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and food safety will help maintain a safe, efficient environment where our culinary team can focus on creating great food for our guests.

Key Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment according to food safety and sanitation standards
• Operate commercial dishwashing machines and manual cleaning equipment safely and efficiently
• Assist with basic food preparation and ingredient prep when needed
• Safely lift and handle pots, pans, trays, dishware, and other kitchen items
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, floors, storage areas, and other work spaces
• Properly store clean dishes, equipment, and supplies
• Follow all kitchen health, safety, and sanitation regulations
• Assist the kitchen team with maintaining an organized and efficient work environment
• Work cooperatively with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to support smooth daily operations

Requirements

We're looking for motivated individuals who are dependable, team-oriented, and willing to learn.

• Previous restaurant or food-service experience is preferred but not required
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices is a plus
• Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashers and kitchen cleaning equipment
• Ability to regularly lift and carry heavy pots, trays, dishware, and equipment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean work environment
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
• Ability to follow instructions and work well as part of a team
• Basic knife skills or previous culinary experience is a plus
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
