Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to postpartum and laboring patients in a birthing center setting. Support high-risk pregnancies, postpartum recovery, and neonatal needs while ensuring safety and comfort.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor fetal and maternal vital signs using Welch Allen vitals machines and CPN monitors.
• Administer medications and perform procedures related to gynecological surgeries, high-risk pregnancies, and postpartum care.
• Document patient information accurately in EMR systems such as Meditech and CPN.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, and health management.
• Follow HCA ICARE standards and unit policies to ensure compliance and high-quality patient safety.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of current acute care experience in Labor and Delivery.
• Must have postpartum, fetal monitoring, and high-risk obstetric experience.
• BLS and NRP certifications required; OB experience preferred.
• Ability to handle complex medical procedures and emergency situations confidently.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to stay busy in a fast-paced environment.
