Manufacturing Supervisor – 3rd Shift (10 PM to 6 AM) We are seeking candidates to join our company as a Manufacturing Supervisor for 3rd Shift (10 PM to 6 AM). The successful candidate will need to train on 1st and 2nd shift before moving to 3rd shift. Job Summary Directs and coordinates day‑to‑day shift activities, providing leadership and supervision to subordinates and serving as the link between direct reports and middle/upper management. The role aligns business operations with the department to exceed customer expectations and support GPI goals. Job Functions Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products, utilizing knowledge of production processes, machine and equipment capabilities, and human resource requirements. Makes decisions on job assignments and work priorities. Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent delays and downtime. Responsible for equipment condition and department housekeeping. Researches, compiles and prepares reports, correspondence, and other information required by management, as well as identifies and resolves discrepancies or errors. Works with employees to maintain a safe work environment, leading and supporting subordinates to work safely and seek improvements in work practices. Ensures product quality and production efficiencies meet or exceed established standards. Examines procedures and recommends changes to save time, labor, and other costs and to improve quality control and operating efficiency. Supervises and coordinates activities of support resources such as quality, maintenance, shipping and receiving, and technical trainers. Observes subordinates to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and productivity standards. Verifies completeness and accuracy of subordinates’ work, computations, and records. Participates in work of subordinates to facilitate productivity or overcome difficult aspects of work. Instructs subordinates in job duties or arranges for training to be provided. Facilitates team meetings, intervenes as necessary to keep the team’s goals and results consistent with company direction, and works with the team members to develop their full potential. Initiates and conducts personnel actions such as discipline, performance evaluations, and payroll. Evaluates subordinate job performance and recommends appropriate personnel action. Administers, communicates and interprets work procedures and company policies to subordinates. Provides guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving grievances or submits unsettled disputes to management. Background / Experience Must have 2‑4 years’ relevant experience in a supervisor role. Manufacturing experience required. Experience operating hand jacks, electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and clamp trucks a plus. Leadership skills – ability to motivate people to perform at high levels. Education / Knowledge High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience in a converting facility required. Knowledge of roll stock cutting machines, printing presses, die cutting machines, and straight‑line glues preferred. Skills Language skills – read, interpret, and write routine reports, and communicate effectively. Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus. Mathematical skills – add, subtract, multiply, divide; compute rates, ratios, percentages; draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning ability – solve practical problems and interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Computer/office equipment skills – SAP, MS Office, and database programs; use of fax, copier, telephone, etc. Certificates – Company‑issued Fork Truck Operator’s License; Company‑issued Clamp Truck Operator’s License. Essential Job Functions General schedule is an 8‑hour Monday‑Friday assignment, with occasional alternate schedules including early mornings, nights, weekends, and rotating shifts as needed. Occasional overnight travel including flying, driving, riding or by rail. Physical Demands Standing occasionally and walking, sitting frequently for extended periods. Awkward or repetitive movements, bending, twisting, climbing, and reaching. Lifting up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Use of both hands for grasping, pushing, pulling. Continuous reading, writing, hearing, speaking, and other tasks. Work in varying temperature and loud noise conditions; PPE required: steel‑toed footwear, safety glasses, hearing protection, cut‑resistant gloves, hair net, beard net.
