Job Summary

The Clinical Nurse is responsible for the planning and delivery of family-centered patient care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role is responsible for directing and coordinating nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards. This individual will collaborate with patient/family and other professional disciplines. They will create a partnership to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery for the achievement of mutually desired patient outcomes. Lastly this individual will support the organization's vision and mission and will promote and provide excellence in nursing care.

Pay Range

Minimum $73.44 Midpoint $75.48 Maximum $77.52

Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

Experience

• Required: Minimum of one (1) year of acute care nursing experience OR nine (9) months of acute care nursing experience in a pediatric setting.

• Preferred: One (1) year acute care nursing in a pediatric inpatient hospital.

Education

• Required: Graduation from an accredited school of Registered Nursing; Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN) required within two (2) years of hire.

Excellent customer satisfaction skills; effective communication skills. Ability to prioritize and complete duties in a timely and organized manner. Capable of performing work according to CHOC's policies and procedures, professional standards of care, and applicable laws. Demonstrate flexibility and creativity in response to unexpected changes in work load/staffing. * Required: Basic Life Support (BLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Provider – Advanced (NRP); Neonatal Resuscitation Provider – Essentials (NRP); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); Registered Nurse - California (RN).

* Preferred: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN).

Work Environments - Functional Demand:

Light - Moderate energy level Lift and carry 25-35 lbs. Push/pull 50-100 lbs. (ie. empty bed, stretcher).
