Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, feeding, and swallowing disorders for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in an outpatient clinical setting. Services are delivered using evidence-based practices to improve functional communication, swallowing safety, and quality of life across environments. Essential Job Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, and feeding/swallowing disorders for patients of all ages. Develop individualized, measurable treatment plans based on evaluation findings and patient-centered goals. Provide skilled therapeutic intervention for: Articulation and phonological disorders. Receptive and expressive language disorders. Pragmatic and social communication disorders. Cognitive-linguistic deficits. Voice disorders. Feeding and swallowing disorders (pediatric and adult dysphagia). Orofacial myofunctional disorders, when applicable. Implement evidence-based therapy techniques and adjust treatment based on patient progress. Provide caregiver and family education to promote carryover of skills into home and community environments. Collaborate with interdisciplinary professionals including physicians, occupational therapists, physical therapists, counselors, dentists/orthodontists, and educators as appropriate. Maintain timely, accurate, and insurance-compliant documentation including evaluations, daily treatment notes, progress reports, and discharge summaries. Participate in care coordination and case management as needed. Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment. Participate in team meetings, professional development, and continuing education. Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current Louisiana Speech-Language Pathology license. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred (CFY candidates may apply). Experience or interest in feeding/swallowing, voice, and pediatric therapy preferred. Knowledge of evidence-based practices across the lifespan. Strong clinical documentation and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to assist patients with positioning during feeding/swallowing therapy when necessary. Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
