Duties

• Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with infection prevention management protocols.
• Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry, ensuring smooth workflow and patient comfort.
• Take high-quality dental x-rays and operate medical imaging equipment while adhering to dental sterilization procedures and aseptic techniques.
• Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, documenting treatment details accurately in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform chairside assisting by providing necessary dental instruments, managing patient management software, and monitoring vital signs to ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
• Support dental reception duties by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and managing patient flow efficiently.
• Uphold clinical confidentiality policies and adhere to healthcare infection prevention and control standards to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic setting with knowledge of general dentistry practices.
• Proficiency in dental assisting techniques including dental instrument processing, dental x-ray operation, and infection control procedures.
• Familiarity with EMR systems such as Eaglesoft, along with experience using patient management software.
• Strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and medical documentation standards related to oral health care.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment practicing four-handed dentistry techniques for optimal efficiency.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients of all ages while maintaining clinical confidentiality policies.
