Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical/Surgical Urology Unit – Alabama

Start Date: August 17, 2026

Location: Southeast Alabama

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 36 or 48 hours per week available; block scheduling offered (except holidays); every-other-weekend requirement; patient ratio 1:6 to 1:7; contracts end on Tuesdays following facility pay period

Highlights:

• Specialized urology unit with high-acuity patient population requiring advanced clinical skills
• Must be proficient with insulin and heparin drips, as well as cardizem, tridil, and amiodarone administration
• 42-bed unit with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, lift teams, and more
• Orientation provided every other Monday with 16 non-billable orientation hours
• New travelers welcome; block booking available for qualified candidates
• Peritoneal dialysis experience a plus but not required

Requirements:

• Active Alabama RN license or Compact license in good standing (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience with demonstrated high-acuity competency
• Strong experience managing 1:6 to 1:7 patient ratios in fast-paced environments
• Proficiency with IV drips (insulin, heparin, cardizem, tridil, amiodarone) required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certifications required
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Permanent address must be at least 90 miles from the facility location
• Experience working in large healthcare facilities required
• All compliance requirements must be completed one week prior to start date
• Completion of pre-start modules required (non-billable time)
