Job Title: Mohs HistotechnicianThe Skin Cancer Surgery Center (Anne Arundel Dermatology) is searching for a self-motivated Mohs Histotechnician to join our growing practice.ResponsibilitiesPrimary Duties:Prepare frozen sections of tissue for microscopic examination using Cryostat.Cares for, maintains, and troubleshoots all laboratory equipment, instruments, and accessories.Cleans, stocks, and inventories the laboratory area.Demonstrate knowledge of CLIA and OSHA standards.Perform other specific duties that are assigned by the lab manager as required.Other duties assigned as deemed necessary by management.QualificationsQualifications:A minimum of 1 years' experience with frozen sections, grossing, embedding, and cutting tissue for Mohs casesDetail-oriented personAn excellent communicator, both verbally, and writtenPresents themselves in a professional mannerQuick learnerTeam playerDependable with excellent attendanceAble to adapt to a high paced workflow based on demandWorks quickly, without compromising quality or safetyPleasant and optimistic personalityProficient at multitaskingAdapt to cutting different tissue sizesTriage and prioritize multiple specimens coming into the lab at one time.Independently cut and process 12 -14 Mohs cases with a 20 minute turnaround time from the time tissue is received to when the provider is reviewing under the microscope.Licensure/Certifications/EducationEducation:Preferred but not required with commensurate experience; HT (ASCP) or have earned an associate degree in a laboratory science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution or have at least 60 semester hours in science from an accredited institution.
