Quality Specification Specialist - Food & Nutrition

job summary:
Are you an organized quality professional with expertise in product specification management? A leading global nutrition and health organization is seeking a Quality Specialist for a 100% remote, 6-month contract position (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM). In this role, you will coordinate, track, and execute updates to finished product testing specifications for externally manufactured products, ensuring full regulatory and quality compliance.

responsibilities:

• Maintain, create, route, track, and close specification updates, change controls, and intake requests in systems of record.
• Manage a master tracker for contract manufacturing specification updates, tracking priority, affected SKUs, status, and implementation dates.
• Collaborate with contract manufacturers to confirm testing capabilities, method alignment, COA formats, and release criteria.
• Support specification updates regarding microbiological standards, contaminant limits, allergens, label claims, and packaging requirements.
• Develop dashboards and reports to improve visibility into overdue updates, compliance gaps, and implementation bottlenecks.

 
qualifications:

• 1-3 years of experience in the food, dietary supplement, medical nutrition, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, or contract manufacturing industry.
• Hands-on experience using quality systems such as SAP, Veeva, PLM, TraceGains, or comparable platforms.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite for managing trackers, dashboards, and structured data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting technical rationale and coordinating with external manufacturing partners.
