Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/28/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / CVICU – Wisconsin Start Date: September 28, 2026 Location: Wisconsin Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: Evening/Night 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays; no call required Highlights: 27-bed Cardiovascular Cardiothoracic ICU specializing in cardiothoracic surgery, heart and lung transplant, and cardiac medical patients Patient ratio of 1-2 ICU patients per nurse; may care for up to 3 general care patients when acuity is lower Strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and physical therapy Epic charting system; 24 hours of orientation provided Magnet-designated Trauma Level I facility recognized as a leading academic medical center Dynamic care environment with advanced equipment including CRRT (NxStage), IABP, Impella, LVAD, and ECMO Requirements: Active RN license (Wisconsin or compact state) Minimum 2 years of acute care CVICU experience within the last 3 years required Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA) Experience and proficiency with NextStage CVVH machine required Experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery and/or Acuity Adaptable areas preferred Previous travel nursing experience required Must successfully pass telemetry examination prior to start with strict passing criteria (80% overall, 100% on lethal rhythms) Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only) Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility Why It's a Great Opportunity: Join a highly respected Magnet-designated academic medical center where you'll provide specialized care for complex cardiac and thoracic patients including CABG, valve repair/replacement, heart and lung transplants, LVAD, and ECMO patients.
