Care Services Director (RN)

Quadriplegics United Against Dependency (Quad), Inc.

Quadriplegics United Against Dependency (Quad), Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the rights and independence of adults living with physical disabilities through low-cost accessible housing and support services. Quad enables individuals to live independently in their own homes, supporting vocational, educational, and civic goals of their choosing. Unlike traditional nursing centers, its services focus on individual strengths and self-reliance in fully functional, accessible environments. The organization offers a unique combination of shared personal attendant care and affordable, accessible housing at a fraction of the cost of nursing home or adult foster care. Quad is driven by the vision that every person with a severe disability should have access to barrier-free living that fosters greater personal independence. Role Description The Care Services Director provides strategic, operational leadership and compliance oversight to ensure the provision of high-quality care to residents enrolled in Quad Inc.’s attendant care program. This role includes providing supervision and support to Community Managers, the Resident Services Coordinator, and attendant care staff. It also involves collaboration with the Human Resources, Accounting, Housing, and Development departments, as needed, to support organizational operations and achieve program objectives. Responsibilities Responsible for overall quality of resident care. Reviews requests for services and determines eligibility/suitability for services. Regularly evaluates the needs of the residents and makes necessary revisions to the plan of care in collaboration with residents and their care team. Assists with training of staff to ensure quality care, compliance and fiscal responsibility. This includes assisting with the development of training materials for care staff, namely for catheter care. Participate in the investigation and resolution of resident concerns. Conduct caregiver supervisory visits, performance coaching, and routine check-ins. Assist with resident assessments, service plan updates, and ongoing quality assurance visits. Address caregiver and resident concerns promptly while maintaining high customer service standards. Monitor caregiver compliance with company policies, state regulations, and required certifications. Maintain accurate documentation within company systems, ensuring timely and complete records. Collaborate with leadership to improve operational efficiency and support performance goals. Directly supervise the Community Managers and Resident Services Coordinator. Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to direct reports. Support employee development and corrective action processes when appropriate. Escalate complex employee relations or operational issues to Human Resources or the Executive Director, as appropriate. Professional Background and Characteristics Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor, and develop employees. Strong relationship-building and cross-functional collaboration skills. Excellent organizational, critical thinking, and time management abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment with confidential information. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization. Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and business needs. Strong customer service mindset with the ability to resolve concerns professionally and compassionately. Qualifications Pass an SPD Criminal Background Check and Pre-employment Screening (Required) Valid Oregon or Washington driver's license (if neither of those states, must obtain driver's license within 30 days of residency) with an insurable driving record (i.e., must meet established criteria), proof of insurance, and at least three years of driving experience (Required). Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing. Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work. Previous experience in home care, healthcare operations, case management, staffing, or employee supervision (Preferred). Working knowledge and/or training in the care field.
