Summary of Primary Functions :

Responsible for performing structural welding and related fabrication activities during the erection and installation of precast concrete and steel components at construction sites throughout North Carolina, South Carolina, and parts of Georgia and Tennessee. This role works closely with field crews, crane operators, and supervisors to ensure all welds, connections, and assemblies are completed safely, accurately, and in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and erection schedules. This position requires frequent regional travel and the ability to work at various project sites as business needs demand. The ideal candidate has experience in structural steel or precast erection environments, can work effectively in outdoor construction settings, and is committed to safety, productivity, and craftsmanship.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: All employees are required to follow all Safety and Quality rules and processes to ensure a safe working environment, and the production of high-quality products.

• Cleans connection plates with chipping hammer and wire brush; Moves ladder to various locations for welding.
  
• Climbs up ladder, with welding leads, to extreme heights to connect panels together with a weld connection.
  
• Drills holes for red head bolts in foundation, installs red heads, bolts clip angle to foundation and welds angles to panel.
  
• Alleviates bad joints by using a hand wrench to pull the panel together to make the weld connection.
  
• Welds haunch and base plates on members at job site when required.
  
• Welds connection plates on panels, beams, columns, and double tees as needed.
  
• Helps erection crew with duties when available, such as; grouting, positioning members, etc.
  
• Performs miscellaneous duties as directed by Supervisor.
  

Job Specifications or Qualifications :

Certificates, Licenses, Registration : Certified in AWS Positions: SMAW-3F and SMAW-4F, and a valid driver's license.

Education and/or Experience : High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
