Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Location

Tucson, AZ | Acute Care

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | Three 12-hour shifts per week | Monday–Friday with varying days off; 3–4 call shifts per 4-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical and procedural interventions in a fast-paced PACU environment
• Perform Pre-op assessments and preparation in addition to PACU recovery care — dual Pre-op and PACU competency required
• Monitor patient vital signs, airway status, pain levels, and overall recovery progress, initiating appropriate interventions as needed
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe patient transitions
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements — navy scrubs required

Required Qualifications

• Active Arizona RN license in good standing with no disciplinary actions
• Minimum of 24 months of PACU experience, with experience within the last 12 months
• Active BLS certification from AHA, ARC, or ASHI — required
• Active ACLS certification from AHA, ARC, or ASHI — required
• Active PALS certification from AHA, ARC, or ASHI — required
• Arizona residents are not eligible for this assignment — candidates must reside outside of Arizona to qualify

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environments
• Familiarity with both Pre-op and PACU workflows across multiple facility types
