About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS (preferred) Must-Have: Experience in Orthopedic and Spine procedures, ability to scrub proficiently Description: Previous permanent staff are not allowed to work here as travelers, regardless of the time that has passed. Two years of experience is required. First-time travelers are allowed. Schedule consists of 4x10 days. Call is required, with around 48-56 hours per 6-week schedule. Call hours may vary based on staff availability. Guaranteed hours are provided. Experience required includes Orthopedic, Spine, Vascular, ENT, General, and Gyn surgical cases. 40% of cases are inpatient, while 60% are ambulatory/outpatient. Standard community hospital surgical cases are performed. Responsibilities include circulating for ENT, General Surgery, Total joints, Neuro/Spine, OB/GYN, Ortho, and Plastics. Scrubbing experience is required for Vascular procedures. Candidates must have experience in Ortho and Spine procedures. Specific procedures include hysterectomies, appendectomies, hernia repairs, lumbar fusions, and more. Preferred RNs may scrub proficiently, but total joint experience is not mandatory. The unit has 8 surgical rooms. References are required from the last year of employment. COVID-19 vaccination is not required. Flu vaccine status is unknown.
