Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provides nursing care to adult and geriatric patients within various units including Neuro/Stroke, Cardiac, Orthopedic, Trauma, Oncology, General Surgery, Uro/Vascular, and Observation, in a fast-paced environment. Utilizes advanced clinical skills to monitor, assess, and intervene efficiently to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• 
  Administer intermediate medication infusions such as heparin, nitro, cardizem, and insulin with accuracy and adherence to protocols.
  
  
• 
  Float within scope across multiple units and facilities to meet operational needs, maintaining high standards of patient care.
  
  
• 
  Perform comprehensive patient assessments, documenting findings accurately in EPIC charting system.
  
  
• 
  Respond promptly to patient emergencies, including chest pain, arrhythmias, and post-surgical complications.
  
  
• 
  Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  
  
• 
  Ensure compliance with all certifications and safety standards, including ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS.
  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience in a hospital setting.
  
  
• 
  Hold current ACLS, BCLS, and NIHSS certifications.
  
  
• 
  Demonstrate familiarity with telemetry and observation unit procedures.
  
  
• 
  Have licensed certification for practicing in the state; pending licenses accepted.
  
  
• 
  Exhibit strong clinical judgment, flexibility, and effective communication skills.
