In this role, you will maintain a safe, secure, and orderly environment for students, staff, and visitors by conducting regular patrols, monitoring access points, enforcing safety protocols, and responding to incidents professionally.Key ResponsibilitiesAccess Control & Facility Security: Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials for visitors and delivery personnel, and prevent unauthorized campus access.Patrol & Surveillance: Perform routine foot and vehicle patrols across dormitories, educational buildings, grounds, and parking areas to deter illegal activity, vandalism, or policy violations.Incident Response & De-escalation: Rapidly respond to alarms, emergency situations, or disturbances. Use professional verbal de-escalation techniques to resolve conflicts peacefully.Safety Inspections: Inspect doors, windows, gates, lighting, and fire equipment to ensure proper functioning; report safety hazards or facility damage immediately.Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate daily activity logs, track shift occurrences, and complete detailed incident reports in a timely manner.Emergency Coordination: Act as a first point of contact during emergencies, assisting with facility evacuations and collaborating with local law enforcement or emergency responders when necessary.Qualifications & RequirementsEducation: High School Diploma or GED required.Licensing/Certifications: Active State Unarmed Security Guard License (CLEET certified in Oklahoma or ability to obtain prior to start).Driver s License: Valid driver s license with a clean driving record.Experience: Previous experience in security, law enforcement, military, or residential facility safety preferred.Skills:Strong observational and physical awareness skills.Professional communication and conflict management skills.Basic computer proficiency for shift logs and written incident reporting.Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand for extended periods, climb stairs, and perform foot patrols in various weather conditions.Background Check: Ability to pass standard pre-employment background screening and drug panel.Why Join Us?This temp-to-hire role offers stable hours, a collaborative team environment, and a direct pathway into a permanent position while helping maintain a safe environment for students working toward their career goals. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure environment across a residential campus, protecting students, staff, visitors, and property. The ideal candidate possesses strong de-escalation skills, a professional demeanor, and the ability to respond effectively to safety incidents or emergencies. KEY RESPONSIBILITIESCampus Surveillance: Conduct regular foot and mobile patrols of campus grounds, dormitory areas, and facilities to deter unauthorized activity and ensure physical security. Access Control: Monitor entry points, verify visitor credentials, inspect vehicles, and control traffic flow entering and exiting the property. De-escalation & Conflict Resolution: Respond promptly to disturbance calls, student disputes, or policy violations, using verbal de-escalation tactics to resolve issues peacefully. Emergency Response: Act as a primary responder during emergency situations (medical incidents, fire alarms, extreme weather, or security breaches) following established safety protocols. Incident Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, document facility rounds, and complete detailed incident reports for management and safety personnel. Policy Enforcement: Consistently and fairly enforce facility rules, safety guidelines, and security policies to foster a positive, orderly community atmosphere. QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSHigh School Diploma or equivalent required. Valid CLEET Unarmed Security License (or ability to obtain licensing upon hire). Previous experience in security, law enforcement, dispatching, military, or campus safety preferred. Strong active listening, verbal communication, and crisis management skills. Proven ability to remain calm, firm, and composed in high-stress situations. Ability to pass a background check and drug screening. Physical ability to stand, walk extensive distances, and operate in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
