Benefits to Working for TWC Competitive starting salary: $3,582.00 – $4,940.00 per month, based on experience and demonstrated skills. Career ladder position with defined promotion requirements; VRC Trainee graduates to VRC I after a successful 6-month probationary period and receives a 5% salary increase. Additional benefits for active employees: Responsibilities Assist eligible individuals with disabilities to prepare for, retain, obtain, and advance in competitive, integrated employment and help students transition successfully from high school to postsecondary education and employment. Develop and maintain relations with community referral sources, businesses, employers, and schools. Collect and analyze all information necessary to make accurate eligibility decisions (e.g., medical, psychological, school records, employment records). Help the customer choose an appropriate employment by analyzing strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, and interests, and matching that information to the current job market. Work with the consumer to develop a plan of services designed to achieve the consumer’s employment goals. Ensure timely, cost‑effective provision of services and consumer progress toward employment goals. Develop and implement a process leading to successful job placement. Apply best‑value purchasing practices and use available, comparable benefits and services to ensure effective use of public funds. Perform other duties as assigned. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree with major in Rehabilitation Counseling or Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from an accredited college or university. OR master’s degree in counseling or related degrees such as Special Education, Social Work, Psychology, or Human Services plus one‑year related work experience. OR Master’s degree with any other major plus two years related work experience. OR Bachelor’s degree with major in vocational rehabilitation from an accredited college or university plus one-year related work experience. OR Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Education, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Public Health plus two years related work experience. OR Bachelor’s degree with any other major plus three years related work experience. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation, such as vocational rehabilitation counseling, social work, psychology, disability studies, business administration, human resources, special education, customized employment, economics, or another related field. No experience required. All Levels Depending on required qualifications and experience, a VRC vacancy may be filled at any level from VRC Trainee to Sr VRC. Factors such as education, credentials, and previous experience with the agency will be considered when establishing hiring level and starting salary. Experience as a VRC must satisfy agency career ladder requirements. Related work experience is defined as case management, counseling, job placement, and general knowledge of disabilities. Travel & Physical Demands Positions involve up to 30% travel; transportation responsibility is on the employee. Counselors must travel regularly to reach assigned consumers. Duties also require the ability to lift or carry up to 10 pounds.
