About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year in related nursing specialty preferred License: RN License in state of employment or compact required Certifications: BLS certification from AHA required ACLS certification from AHA required Must-Have: Ability to float when needed Description: 2 positions available. 36 or 48 hours per week guarantees are available. Shift is days from 7 AM to 7 PM. Type of patients on the unit include MI, CHF, arrhythmias, PVD, and some med-surg overflow. The department manages cardiac drips but does not administer nitrates. The competent Nurse practices independently in similar clinical settings. Demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides both routine and complex care. Capable of long-range goal planning. Continues to develop the ability to manage contingencies in clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers to manage clinical situations. Meets competencies of applicable leadership roles. Utilizes the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families. Administers medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring for side effects and effectiveness. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers. Identifies issues and available resources. All newly hired experienced RNs must attend an initial orientation within the first 30 days of hire. New hires will be precepted by a designated, trained staff member. Initial onboarding requirements are validated through successful completion of designated competencies. Completion of all annual competency verification requirements is expected.
