Senior Technology EngineerIMEG is seeking a Senior Technology Engineer to join our Technology team in St. Louis, Missouri. In this role, you will lead the design, analysis, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology (ICT) systems—including structured cabling, audio/video, and security systems—for large and complex building projects. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide technical direction, and deliver innovative engineering solutions that meet client needs and industry standards. Advance your career by driving technology innovation and delivering high-impact solutions with a national leader in building systems engineering.Technical Path: The Senior Technology Engineer will lead projects as a project manager or the lead engineer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects. They will work closely with a team of engineers and consultants to provide project direction, engineering solutions, and advice to clients to ensure positive outcomes. Primary responsibilities will include engineering analysis, design and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology (ICT) systems in buildings. Additional responsibilities include working within the project's monetary budget, leading training and mentoring efforts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.Principal Responsibilities:Lead design efforts for the analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems. Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standardsPerforms site assessments and generates detailed analysis and technical reportsInteract with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively. Build and maintain client relationships through professional communicationProvide in-process design reviews of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems design, calculations, and specifications. Implement IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirementsProvide technical training and mentoring. Provide technical assistance in resolution of field issues with minimal support from senior staffStay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering. Lead research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEGPrioritize safety in all aspects of engineering work. Identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with low-voltage technology ICT systemsCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including other engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goalsRequired Skills/Abilities:Mastery of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specificationsMastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency of principles relating to electrical voltage and current, digital and analog signals, basic IT networking topologies and protocols, as it relates to electrical low-voltage systems design for buildingsStrong training, mentoring and leadership skillsAbility to perform final quality control check in their area of expertiseAbility to sell work and develop client relationshipsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work collaboratively in a team environmentAttention to detail and problem-solving skillsEagerness to adapt to new challengesProficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and OutlookAbility to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groupsAbility to travel up to 25% with occasional overnight staysEducation and Experience:Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Computer or related Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, related STEM field, or equivalent, requiredProfessional Engineer (PE) License required14 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the building design consulting industryPhysical Requirements:Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 poundsOccasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pullWill have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noisesProject Management Path: The Senior Technology Engineer 3 will lead projects as a project manager or the lead engineer for the delivery of large and highly complex projects. Serve as the point of contact for teams and clientsCollaborate with business development staff, Project Executives, Client Executives, and Market Directors / Leaders during the initial stages of project opportunitiesAssist Project Executives and Client Executives with design scopes of work and fee calculations for proposal generationAssist Project Executives and Client Executives with contract reviewsCreate project schedules including targets for milestones and deadlinesCreate monthly billings and submit financial information to Accounting in a timely manner. Update billing projections and estimated completion percentage for all projects monthlyEnsure design follows owner standards and requirements, IMEG standards and code requirements. Ensure design milestone deliverables are achieved, IMEG and client quality control processes are completed, and construction technical support occurs in a timely manner Collaborate with design staff and coordinate scheduling of projects during all phases of design and construction. Schedule and lead progress meetings and provide meeting documentation.Lead project interviews and project presentationsRespond to and resolve client / construction concerns.
