Day.Aspirus Wausau Hospital in Wausau, WI is seeking an OB Technologist II to join our team!The OB Technologist II is responsible for planning and organizing supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures and provides exposure; hemostasis and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation while optimizing results for our patients.Collaborates with all surgical team members to assure the safe and efficient passage of a patient through surgery. Responsible for his/her activity that can interact with, collaborate with, cause, result in an effect or consequences to or with other practitioners in the surgical environment.HOURS: Full Time; 0.9 FTE or 72 hours every pay period. Night shift. EVERY THIRD WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY.Experience/QualificationsKnowledge of surgical standards and practices normally acquired through graduation from an approved accredited school of Surgical Technology.Has advanced knowledge of surgical anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and operative technique related to the operative procedures this position will assist with.Minimum of one year of acute care surgical experience desiredCurrent CST-Certified Surgical Technologist, or obtained within 12 months of hire. Those employed in role prior to 2000 are exempt from holding CST and have demonstrated proficiency and required knowledge in lieu of certification.Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) desired or ability to demonstrate competency in lieu of CSFA requirement.Current BLS certification or obtained within 60 days of hire - All clinical personnel in identified job codes are required to maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) training through independent study, manikin and knowledge testing. An acceptable CPR training program is the Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider course from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Professional Rescuer Program with AED. Possesses ability to apply principles of asepsis and infection control.Possesses ability to perform effectively in stressful and emergency situations.Possesses ability to recognize safety hazards and initiate appropriate preventive and corrective actions.Possesses ability to perform effectively and harmoniously as a member of the operative team. Uses surgical instruments skillfully in ways consistent with their design and purpose.
